Why Do People Live here?
The Masonboro Harbour Neighborhood is a gated, waterfront community in coastal New Hanover County that is about 20 minutes from downtown Wilmington.
This enclave of 43 homes is one of the few communities with a private marina that has direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway.
Within minutes you can be out on open water, headed out to sea or to one of the pristine beaches located on Masonboro Island.
Homes with slips can accommodate up to a 32’ boat.
What's the Neighborhood Like?
The general architecture of the community is laid back, lowcountry with large covered porches that beckon you to sit and relax for a while. The layout of homes range from one-level ramblers to larger 3-level homes. Masonboro Harbour is located off Masonboro Loop Road, just southwest of Wilmington. Homes in the community range in size from 2700 sqft to 5000 sqft, and are priced from $600,000 to $1,600,000. Most homes were built in the late 1990's.
Because the Masonboro Harbour community is gated, there is no through traffic so the atmosphere is very peaceful. Most of the properties are tree-lined as they lead down to the private marina.
Boats moored in the marina pilot through a short canal that leads to the Intracoastal Waterway.
A few homes beyond the marina offer waterfront views of the Intracoastal, Masonboro Island and the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
What's Going on Nearby the Masonboro Harbour Neighborhood?
Masonboro Harbour is only 20 minutes from downtown Wilmington and is conveniently located minutes from many restaurants and shops in Monkey Junction and Mayfaire Town Center. You can spend the day shopping or catch a free concert on Friday night at Mayfaire Town Center. Across the river is the USS Battleship North Carolina that offers daily tours. If the arts are important to you, then check out Thalian Hall where you can catch a variety of events weekly. If you feel like spending the day at the beach, Masonboro Harbour is also just minutes from Wrightsville Beach on Harbour Island and Carolina and Kure Beaches on Pleasure Island.
