A national magazine that helps people make retirement relocation decisions has named Wilmington as one of the country's best retirement locations.
Where to Retire will profile the Port City as one of its "8 Hot Towns to Snap Up Bargains Now" in its January/February issue, available Dec. 18.
Where to Retire editor Mary Lu Abbott said the Wilmington area possesses qualities important to today's retirees.
"Signs like rising home prices and falling inventory point to a rebounding housing market," Abbott stated in a release. "Our eight locales, including Wilmington, offer boomers excellent buys now, with the possibility for value appreciation in the future, as well as an active retirement lifestyle."
Other retirement hot spots noted by the magazine are Salem, Ore.; Spokane, Wash; Reno, Nev.; Palm Springs area, Calif.; Marietta, Ga.; Hagerstown, Md.; and Gainesville, Fla.
