Home sales continue to post sizable gains across the region.
Figures recently released by the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR) showed an 18 percent hike in the number of homes sold in the greater Wilmington area in July compared to July 2012.
In all, 628 homes were sold last month throughout New Hanover, northern Brunswick and Pender counties – up from 531 homes sold in July 2012. The median price for a home – the midpoint in price for which all properties are sold during a given time period – increased last month to $198,500, up 13 percent from $175,000 in July 2012.
The average price of a home sold in July also increased 4 percent to $244,130 compared to $235,216 in July 2012.
Year-to-date, 3,678 residences have been sold in the greater Wilmington market, according to WRAR’s records.
